When your next move isn’t obvious.
The Next Move helps founders, independents and small teams make sense of unclear ideas, offers, signals and decisions - so the next step feels sharper, simpler and more useful.
You don’t need to know exactly what kind of help you need.
Start with something that’s bugging you…
So what’s bugging you right now?
Most people don’t arrive with the problem neatly labelled.
They arrive with something more ordinary - a challenge or a wish:
“I can’t explain this clearly.”
“My website isn’t doing enough.”
“People seem interested, but nothing is moving.”
“I’ve had feedback, but I don’t know what it means.”
“I’m too close to it now.”
“I need another pair of eyes on this.”
Bring that.
Start here…
Send me the thing you’re wrestling with and a few lines on what feels unclear.
It could be…
a website
a pitch
an offer
a prototype
a bit of customer feedback
a decision you keep circling
a thing you can’t quite explain yet
I’ll take a look and suggest the most useful next move.
That might be a quick reply, a Next Move Clinic, a deeper piece of work -or something else that would help more.
“Steve helped me see what really mattered and stop chasing every new idea.”

You don’t have to commit to a big project to get a useful outside view.

The Next Move Sprint
For when the question is bigger than one session.
A Sprint gives us more room to explore the real issue, sharpen the proposition, improve the story, make sense of customer signals, or work through what needs to change next.
Useful when you’re asking:
“What is this really?”
“Who is it really for?”
“Why isn’t this landing?”
“What should I focus on next?”
“What should I stop doing?”
The goal is not to create a long business plan. It is to bring the thing into clearer focus so you can move forward with more confidence.
Usually several sessions over a few weeks

“I help founders make sense of what they’re building before they spend more time building it.”
About me
I’m Steve Morris. I help founders, independents and small teams make sense of ideas, offers, products and services that have become hard to explain, shape or move forward.
Often, people come to me with a symptom. A website that isn’t doing enough. A proposition that feels fuzzy. A product that has grown in several directions. A story that doesn’t quite land. A decision they keep circling.
My work is to help find the problem behind the problem.
I bring together design, UX, brand thinking, marketing, facilitation and creative problem solving. That means I can look at the whole picture: what you’re offering, who it’s for, how people experience it, what they understand, where they hesitate - and what needs to become clearer next.
The work is practical and hands-on. We might map the offer, review the website, work through customer signals, sharpen the story, rethink the journey or decide what to test next.
I’ve worked inside organisations and alongside people building things on their own. In both cases, the most valuable moment often comes when we step back, strip away the noise and getting to something simple enough to act on.
That’s what The Next Move is for.
Insights
Are you building a product or building a business?
You've built something real. But the direction isn't quite clear yet. I’ve answered a few questions you should consider before you build anything else.
Before you build more: Walk through one customer’s day
A quick, human‑centred exercise to pressure‑test your idea against one real person’s day. Forget personas for a moment…see where your product truly fits (or doesn’t) before you sink more time into building.
‘Interesting’ is not traction
You showed it to people. They liked it. Someone asked for a demo. And then nothing. You've been building features since, because that feels more useful than sitting with the question underneath it all.
That gap has a name. You know what you've built. You just don't know what it is yet.
Not sure what your next move is?
Start with what’s bugging you.
Send me a short note about the thing you’re working on, what feels unclear, and where you’d value another pair of eyes.
It might be your offer, website, pitch, product, service, customer feedback or a decision you keep coming back to.
I’ll take a first look and suggest the most useful next step.
